DriveTelemetry Pro · Last updated 25 June 2026
In short: Your driving data stays on your iPhone. DriveTelemetry Pro operates no servers of its own — your trips, routes, vehicle data and diagnostics are stored only on your device. The only information that leaves your device is anonymous app‑usage analytics and the purchase activity Apple processes for subscriptions. We never sell your data, and we don't show ads.
This policy explains what information the DriveTelemetry Pro app ("DriveTelemetry", "the app", "we", "us") processes, where it goes, and the choices you have. It applies to the iOS app published on the Apple App Store. The app is provided by Oleksandr Kolesnyk, the individual developer of DriveTelemetry Pro.
DriveTelemetry is a vehicle‑telemetry app. To do its job it reads and records the following on your iPhone. This data is kept locally on your device and is not transmitted to us or to any third party (we operate no backend to receive it):
| What | Why | Where it lives |
|---|---|---|
| GPS location & route (precise) | Logging your trips and showing them on a map | On‑device store & per‑trip track files |
| OBD‑II vehicle telemetry (RPM, speed, coolant temperature, throttle position, control‑module voltage) | The live dashboard and recorded trip data | On‑device, per‑trip |
| Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) | The diagnostics feature | On‑device |
| Vehicle profile (make, model, year, fuel type, and optional VIN) | Associating trips and diagnostics with your vehicle | On‑device |
| Motion / G‑forces (accelerometer) | Recording cornering, acceleration and braking forces | On‑device, per‑trip |
Because this information never leaves your iPhone, deleting a trip — or deleting the app — removes it permanently. We cannot access it and cannot recover it for you.
Only the following limited information is sent off your device, and only to the named third parties:
To understand how the app is used and to improve it, we send anonymous product‑analytics events to Mixpanel. These events describe actions in the app, not your driving content. Specifically:
This identifier is generated by the analytics SDK and is not tied to your name, email or any account — DriveTelemetry has no user accounts or logins.
Subscriptions and one‑time purchases (gauge skins) are handled entirely by Apple through StoreKit. Apple processes your payment; we never receive or store your payment details. The app only learns whether you currently hold an active subscription or have purchased an item, as reported by Apple. See Apple's Privacy Policy.
If you choose to share a trip, the app builds a summary image and a link on your device and hands them to iOS's standard share sheet — you decide where they go. To protect your home and destinations, the shared route is trimmed by roughly 250 metres around its start and end before sharing. This happens on your device; the trip is not uploaded to us.
You can review or revoke any of these at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security (and under DriveTelemetry in Settings). Denying a permission disables only the related feature.
DriveTelemetry is a general‑audience app (rated 4+) intended for drivers. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
On‑device data is retained until you delete the relevant trip or uninstall the app. Analytics events are retained by Mixpanel according to its own retention practices. You can ask us to delete the analytics data associated with your device — see Contact.
Our third‑party providers (Apple and Mixpanel) may process data on servers located in the United States or other countries. Where required, these transfers rely on the providers' own safeguards.
We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with a new "Last updated" date.
